I'll echo all of the other negative reviews, especially Shannon's. The place is clean inside, the temperature was fine (maybe because it was cold outside), and the location is not in a bad area. I thought about giving them a three because the second lady right outside the testing area was very friendly, but the elderly lady up front needs to straighten up. It appears that she's been allowed to act the same way for years based on these reviews.
I walked up and one guy was headed to his locker. No one else was in the waiting area. I stood in front of this lady for a good 30 seconds while she just looked straight down in silence and refused to acknowledge my presence. She asked me what my name was and how to spell it and after a few seconds, said she couldn't find it. I told her the time of the exam and offered my candidate ID, and she found it shortly after. She asked if I read the sign on the front door and I said no. I'd glanced at it, but I was more concerned about getting signed in and taking my exam. She handed me a piece of paper, said go read the sign, then read what she handed me and have a seat. I read it, it was about Covid protocol. Came back in (again, no one was in there besides us), and stood near the desk while reading what she'd given me... she flat out told me to have a seat. I was already agitated, but that really ticked me off. Then when I handed her the paper, she asked me if I saw the sign directly in front of me. I said yeah it's the same one that was on the door. I put two forms of ID in front of her. Of course she said she needed two forms of ID... I slide them half an inch closer to her.
She told me to sanitize my hands and to get ready for the hokey pokey before she had to take two right hand palm vein scans, two left hand palm vein scans, then two more right palm vein scans. She mentioned something about turning around and that's what it's all about, but I wasn't in the mood. Then I had to stare at the camera for an inordinate amount of time because she couldn't get something going. I think she took some joy in it like Shannon mentioned. One of the top 3 worst pictures I've ever seen of myself lol.
I walked back to the testing area and had to give the next lady (much friendlier) my name, and provide another palm vein scan. I had to show that I had nothing in my pockets, had to roll up my sleeves and she checked my ears and head for whatever people use for cheating. The computer took forever to load the exam, but was snappy once I got started. The chair would not adjust and the keyboard looked to be the lowest quality keyboard that you can buy. I had to raise my hand to leave once I was done. You can't just stand up and walk out. Yet another palm vein scan and I headed back to the front. I've said palm vein more today than I ever have in my life.
I didn't see the front desk lady, so I went to my locker to get my stuff. She was right inside the room next to the lockers eating some chips. She came out and asked me to spell my name again before she handed me my results. She said Merry Christmas, but I just wasn't feeling the holiday spirit.
I really don't want to go back here, but if I want to take another ISC2 exam, this is the closest location. The next closest is Clemson. I don't know what this lady's problem is, but she needs to retire or find another job. It's almost like she's playing some psychological game to get people flustered when that's the absolute last thing that's needed right before taking a technical exam. Yanking my chain about a Covid sign and making me walk back and forth when she could've just let me read it where I was standing (and then asking if I saw the one in front of me) is next-level pettiness.
