I registered to take my Step 3 exam here months before knowing about the impending snow storm that would bring 10 inches of snow to Illinois. Even with the knowledge of inclement weather for days before my exam, I still prepared to travel a long distance to take my exam at this prometric testing center. Without any word of cancellation from the testing center, 22 hrs before my exam, I traveled 5 hours (trip usually takes 2 hrs) through a snowstorm to make it to my exam on time. Assuming timely information about test cancellations was standard for Prometric, I assumed no call or email from the center meant my exam will go on as scheduled. It wasn't until 7pm, 1 hr after I arrived to Decatur, IL that I received an email that my test was canceled. You can imagine how frustrated I was to drive through "life-threatening conditions" (I-DOT words, not mine), for 5 hrs for an exam to only have a last minute email tell me it was canceled. It is so inconsiderate to send such late communications to their testers. If you're planning on testing during tornado season, snow season or other times when there may be inclement weather, I would recommend finding a different prometric center because this one will not be considerate of your time.
